Just Hanging Out...

It's been a bit since our last post. Not to much going on to chat about. We have just been playing and having fun and at the same time trying to stay cool. Here are some new pics of Linden just hanging out.

New stuff....

So we had an extremely busy weekend. With Linden's Eye, then shopping for Linden's room and the patio....we had a lot going on....hence lots of post in one day.

Let's start with Linden's room. We went and bought Linden a BIG bag of Mega Blocks. He had a small set that he got with a toy at Christmas from some lovely friends of Mimi's and loved them. He would sit forever just playing with them. So, we bought a set of 250 of them!! And we also bought him a organizer tub self to keep some of his smaller toys in. I love this thing because its not to tall and he can reach everything and see whats there to play with. Some of his smaller fave. toys always fell to the bottom of his toy box and he could never get to them! In getting this new shelf we had to move things around.

So here are some Pics!

His bedroom as a whole...well, I guess as a half...you are missing the back half of the room, but its unchanged.

A updated look at the stuffed animal pile! We counted...we are up to over 100!

In the Dinning room I finally finished the wreath I started and got it hung. Here it is...
And a look at the overall wall... You can see our nifty wine holder that we got from Ikea. It was empty at the time, but now its full...I will have to get a pic with it full so you can get the full effect. But this will have to do for now. Also, I moved Denim to the bar. I was tired of moving him from the table.

Here is a close up of My lil Denim! I love him!

And here is my new center piece. It will never be as good as Denim, but I think Denim is happy were he is now.

And as if that wasn't enough....We did more Patio Gardening! We pulled up the old Grass that was dying and looking blah and put down some new stuff. We added some lattice for the Morning Glory's and Sweet Peas to climb. We took the tomatoes out of the 3 tier planter and put them in a new pot and added new flowers to the 3 tier and added a second 3 tier of flowers. We took the daisy's down and put them in a new pot and put new flowers in the old planter. I added a hanger of Sweet Potato Vine (I can't wait for it to take off!) We got a Wisteria to go in between the Jasmine. Added a Hibiscus. And last but not least....we got Seymore!! Seymore is my new baby! We will talk about Seymore in a bit...

A view from out door...

A view from the parking lot...

Close up looks.......

How do you hide the satellite bucket you ask? hehe

And then there is ....Seymore!

Seymore is a Pitcher Plant. He is in the family of Fly Traps. He catches bugs in his "pitchers"! Isn't he the coolest!!

Ok...So that's what I did this weekend...... What did you do?

Cow and Bunny....

Here is Linden telling you what a Cow and Bunny Says!

Swollen Eye...

Friday Morning when I went to get Linden up his eye was red and swollen. I had a mini heart attack and quickly ran all the things that could had happened to him in my head...Did he hit his head on something?....Is it allergies?....Did something bite him??? I figured I would watch him and see how he acted. By lunch it had went down alot but after nap it was bad again! It was actually worse then it was that morning! I quickly called the Dr.s office and told them what was going on. Our Pedi called back and said to get to the office as soon as we could, that she would wait on us. That kinda worried me, but I knew he was acting fine, so I stayed calm and just got there. Once we got there she took one look and said.. "Oh yep, Its a bite!" Luckily, there was no infection and she said that it would just run its course. She looked at his eye (which he HATED!!!) really good and said that his eye looked fine and that as long as it didn't get infected, besides looking bad, it would be ok. As of today, its all better. Its still a little puffy, but most of the swelling is gone and you can actually see where the bite is.

Here are picture's from Friday Morning...

Also note that he got a hair cut! That's a whole different story and a whole different Mini Heart attack! I guess if your not use to his hair, you couldn't tell. It looks fine and it all worked out, but when it happened...oh I was so worried! Eric said he wanted to "trim" it, I said are you sure you can do it? He said yeah! So after bath he went to "trim" it, and somehow an INCH of hair was cut! I wanted to cry! I just knew it would be to short, but it actually looks great! I'm happy with it, and no one can say he has a mullet anymore!

Friends, Hail, and Family...Oh My!

Today we had an extra fun day. My friend Marisa, who is more of a sister to me then a friend(she calls my parents Mom and Dad, I call her Mom..Mom), came to see us. Marisa and I became friends in the 3rd grade (we are talking over 20 years ago! oh..wow, im so old!!) and were just about inseparable up in till High school when she moved, but then lived together most of our Sr. year(although we went to different schools). We haven't seen her since last summer. Needless to say, Linden has changed a lot since then. She is currently pregnant with her first child, so alot of our convo was about baby's which is always great. After she left I couldn't help but reflect on our lives together and how amazing it is that after all these years we are still so close. She is that friend that we can be apart for years but put us in a room and we could talk for weeks...without just reminiscing. It warms my heart knowing that even though I dont see her often or even talk to her weekly, she is always their and will be by my side in a second if I needed her. And I am always here for her. I'm also excited that she has lil "Sprout" and that we know have a whole new chapter in our lives that we can share with each other. And boy, we already have so many chapters. I hope that our kids (she doesn't know if sprout is a boy or girl yet, although the pee test says boy) can be good kids. I know we live kinda far apart and with every one's busy lives, we wont see each other to often. But one can hope..Right?!?

My brother showed up around 4ish. Not long after he got there (we are talking mins.) and huge roar of Thunder rolled. I was in shock because it had just been amazingly sunny and I didn't know we had storms on the way. And boy did we get one. I saw it was getting increasingly dark. I asked Eric if we should move the flower pots of the rail just in case it did get bad. No sooner then he moved them it started raining and hailing. It was like marble sized hail and it was alot of it! At one point it looked like the rain stopped and it was just hail falling from the skys. It lasted for all of 10 mins and then the sun was back and you couldn't even tell it happened. Crazy Texas weather!

Anyways, My Parents and Grandmother showed up a little while later and we had dinner. We ordered out Cowboy Chicken, which I love! Oh..And I found out they deliver...boy are they in trouble now! We had a good time and of course my parents brought Linden more toys. Little People people and animals and a REALLY cute guitar so he can play with Eric and I! I will have to post Pics and Video soon.

I also did some home school research today. I think we are now sure that is the way we want to go. After we read this http://blogginbridget.blogspot.com/2009/03/why.html
it was hard to argue it any longer. This lady, Bridget, needs a medal! Talk about Super Mom! Anyways, a friend of mine , Jen, posted a site http://www.k12.com with what looks to be an amazing program. We sent away for information and a video. We actually had a lady from the school call us within a hours time after requesting the video. Eric had to tell her we are way ahead of the game and that we were just looking for info and doing research, that Linden was only 20 months old. He she laughed at that. I guess maybe, it is a bit early to worry so much, but then again...is it really? If we enroll Linden in Private school or even the Private Homeschooling course we are talking $1000's of dollars a year! We do not want to send Linden to public schools. The schools around us are just not good learning environment. I was looking at some of the private schools around here and we are talking 6k to 20k a year! Most where no less then $800 a month (for 10 months) that is just crazy. The Private School course through k12 is 5,000 a year. So its much less and it would be from home, online, he would have a private teacher and of course Eric and I would be here to guide him along. I don't know, maybe its to early to worry about it...but if we are going to be dishing out even 5,000 dollars a year...I think its well worth lots of early planning and planning. We are talking about our child's future. And besides, there are some schools that if you aren't registered the day you find out your pregnant..your too late, the class is full! Talk about early! Ok....I think Im done with that subject for now. Oh...But Jen, Thanks for that site!!!

Yep, it was a fun, crazy, busy kinda day. Pictures soon....

Eric's Birthday....

A while back Eric told me that he really wanted a new guitar. He said I always ask him what he wants for his Birthday or Christmas and he could never think of anything...but this year he could, he would really like a new guitar. I of course jumped on it. I sent an e-mail out to my brother and my mom and we started talking about it. I asked Eric if there was a certain one he wanted, a style a color? He told me he didnt wan't anything that looked like it belonged in an 80's hair band. No crazy style. I asked if he would like it to be a certain color, he said he didnt care. So joking I said, "Sooo, Pink is cool?" He said..."Anything but Pink!" Well...that just wouldn't do! Who wouldnt love a pink guitar!! So, the weeks went by his Birthday got closer and since I never said anything more, he asumed that there was no new guitar in his future.

He was in OK for his birthday. He got home at about 10:30 that night. He was tired and had had a pretty crappy day. He had sit down at the computer to chat with our friend Paul (who knew what was going on) when I walked in the room with a guitar bag asking him "Hey Babe..Whats this?" He kinda looked at me and said "HOLY CRAP!" I handed it over and THIS IS WHAT HE OPENED....

The look on his face was priceless. He kinda looked at me like what the heck... and of course, I couldnt keep a smile off my face. I said.."What....Its Pink? Oh wait..." and ran out of the room to GET THIS....

When I walked in the room with a 2nd guitar bag I thought he was going to pass out. The look on his face was amazing! And when he saw his new guitar we was beaming. But then he looked at me and pointed at the Pink one and said..."But whats that?" LOL!! I explained that it was mine, and that I wanted my own guitar, but that it was a funny joke to play on him as well! He was even more excited that we now both have guitars to paly together.

It was a great night!

Painting Fun....

So I finally let Linden paint for the first time. Natalie had given him some paints in his Easter Basket, but I never let him use them. I was pleased that he kept most of the paint either on the paper or himself. He really enjoyed it. Here are pictures...
